Reading & Understanding German Civil Registration Records with Ken Weaver. German territories followed the French practice of government agencies keeping records of births, marriages and deaths. This practice dates back to the 1790’s in some sections and expanded to all of Germany by 1876. This session will look what the researcher needs to know about information contained in official German government documents.
