May Meeting ~ Murder, Mayhem or Town Tragedy with Lisa Alzo

The Lee County Genealogical Society continues its 2027 theme, “Solving the Puzzle: Breaking Brick Walls,” with Lisa Alzo presenting “Murder, Mayhem or Town Tragedy.” Sometimes the clues to solving our family history mysteries are hidden within dramatic stories of crime, tragedy, and unexpected events. In this fascinating presentation, Lisa Alzo uses a complex case study to demonstrate how genealogists can uncover the heroes, villains, and forgotten stories buried deep within their family trees

Learn how to use a wide variety of records—including census records, funeral records, obituaries, cemetery inscriptions, historical newspapers, town histories, court documents, jail records, and other underused sources—to piece together challenging family history puzzles and break through research roadblocks.

This engaging program will inspire researchers to look beyond traditional records and discover how even the most difficult genealogy mysteries can be solved through creative investigation and careful analysis.
