1. Avoiding Fallacies in Family History: A key to research success, we will learn the fallacies of debate to name errors you may have encountered but haven’t labeled. Whether in the evidence or the source, errors infiltrate genealogical problem-solving
2. Applying the Principle of Three to Genealogy Research. Throughout history, in religion, folklore, and daily life, we have relied on the Principle of Three – how things occur in groups of three. For example, using three examples to prove a point, giving three reasons for a decision, relying on three pieces of evidence to support a claim. But are three enough when doing genealogical research? Using three case studies, we will demonstrate reasons that limiting one’s findings to three might be too restrictive. Instead, we explain how to use an Exhaustive Search to prove ancestral conclusions.
The program starts at 11am ET. There will be a 15-minute break between topics. Feel free to bring lunch or order from the Bookmark Cafe.
